Create a Safer Environment with RAY BAUM'S ACT Compliant ICON SIP Trunks for E911 The FCC in Section 506 of "RAY BAUM'S Act" requires that users of hosted VoIP services can update the physical address from where they are accessing a VoIP service when their physical address changes and is not automatically updated. The purpose of this act is to ensure that an accurate location (referred to as a "dispatchable location") is provided in the event 911 is dialed. This location address which also includes the floor, suite or building number where applicable, is used to route emergency calls to the nearest public safety answering point and provide first responders with a dispatchable address. ICON Cloud Solutions now offers SIP Trunks that work with the Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise OXO Connect, OmniPCX Enterprise and OpenTouch communications systems allowing customers to change their dispatchable address when they move their ALE IP phone or Rainbow device. Customers can order these trunks specifically for 911 and route emergency calls over the ICON SIP Trunks to the nearest Public Safety Answering Point. Should a user dial 911, the ICON service will send the call with their current dispatchable address information to the closest Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). Getting Started This application requires an Alcatel-Lucent OXO Connect, OmniPCX Enterprise or OpenTouch communications system. Pricing starts at $9.95 per month per call path and $1.25 per month per DID number. Each call path includes 100 minutes of dialing per month.
